Our AML and Verification Commitment

We hold licence ALSI-202508063-FI2 from the Anjouan Licensing Authority, and that licence comes with strict anti-money-laundering and know-your-customer obligations. This page sets out, in plain terms, what we check, when we check it, and what we need from you.

Our AML Policy Basics

Riviera Casino operates under licence ALSI-202508063-FI2 issued by the Anjouan Licensing Authority. Under that licence we must prevent our platform being used to launder money, finance terrorism or move proceeds of crime. We meet this obligation through risk-based customer due diligence, transaction monitoring and prompt reporting to the relevant authorities.

We apply these controls to every account, regardless of size. Whether you deposit 30 AUD in Neosurf or withdraw 8,000 AUD in Bitcoin, the same framework applies to you. We do not treat verification as an optional extra; it is a condition of your play with us.

When We Verify Your Identity

We verify at three points: at registration (basic identity and age screening), before your first withdrawal, and again whenever a threshold or risk trigger is reached. Australian players must be 18 or over, and we check this at sign-up.

For the standard KYC check we ask for three things: a government-issued photo ID (passport, driver licence or national ID card), a proof of address dated within the last three months (utility bill, bank statement or tenancy agreement), and verification of the payment method you use (card photo with middle digits covered, or a screenshot of your e-wallet or crypto wallet showing your name).

  • Photo ID: passport, driver licence or national ID, valid and legible on all four corners
  • Proof of address: utility bill, bank statement or tenancy agreement, dated within three months
  • Payment method: card photo with middle digits and CVV covered, or e-wallet/crypto wallet screenshot showing your name

Step by Step Verification

We designed the process so it takes minutes, not days. Most checks are finished within 24 to 48 hours, and straightforward cases clear faster. Here is exactly what happens after you submit a withdrawal request:

Your documents are stored on encrypted servers, access is restricted to our compliance team, and we never share them with third parties except where the law requires it.

  • 1. You upload documents through the secure verification tab in your account.
  • 2. Our compliance team reviews each document for authenticity and completeness.
  • 3. We run identity and sanctions screening against our licence obligations.
  • 4. If anything is unclear, we contact you by email before rejecting anything.
  • 5. You receive written confirmation once verification is complete.

Source of Funds Requests

For most players, standard KYC is all we ever need. For larger or unusual activity, our licence requires us to confirm that the money you play with comes from a legitimate source. We may ask for a source-of-funds declaration when a single deposit exceeds 5,000 AUD, when cumulative deposits over 30 days exceed 20,000 AUD, or when our monitoring flags a pattern we cannot explain from your normal play.

We accept payslips, bank statements, tax returns, business accounts, dividend statements or a signed declaration for wins from other operators. We ask only for what the trigger requires, and we treat your financial information with the same confidentiality as your identity documents.

How We Monitor Transactions

Every deposit and withdrawal is screened against your verified profile, your usual stakes and the payment methods on file. Our systems flag structuring (splitting amounts to stay under thresholds), rapid deposit-and-withdraw cycles with little play, and deposits from methods that do not match your verified identity.

We operate a same-method withdrawal rule: where a method supports withdrawals, we return funds to the same source you deposited from. Deposits are accepted via PayID, Neosurf, CashtoCode, Visa, Mastercard, Skrill, MiFinity, Jeton, Bitcoin, Ethereum, Tether and Litecoin; withdrawals are paid via bank transfer, cards, Skrill, MiFinity and the four supported cryptocurrencies. Withdrawals process within 0 to 24 hours, with limits of 8,000 AUD per day, 32,000 AUD per week and 80,000 AUD per month. No fees apply on either side.

Higher limits are available to verified VIP members (Bronze to Diamond tiers), and every increase is subject to the same enhanced checks.

When Verification Fails

If documents are missing, unreadable or do not match your account details, we pause withdrawals on that account until the issue is resolved. You can still log in and play through funds already deposited, but nothing leaves the account until we know exactly who we are paying.

If you refuse to verify, provide documents that fail our checks, or we find that an account was opened with false details, we close the account and refund any remaining balance to a verified payment method in your name. Where the law obliges us, we report the matter to the Anjouan authorities and freeze funds pending their instruction. Funds connected to confirmed criminal proceeds are forfeited under our licence conditions.

You can appeal any decision by writing to [email protected], and our compliance team responds within 24 hours.

How Long We Keep Records

We retain your verification documents for five years after your account closes, as our Anjouan licence requires. Retention lets us answer regulator requests, resolve disputes and demonstrate compliance long after you stop playing. After that period we delete or irreversibly anonymise the records, except where a regulator has directed us to hold them longer.

You can request a copy of the documents we hold about you at any time, or ask us to correct an error, by contacting our support team on live chat (available 24/7) or at [email protected].

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to verify my identity before I can deposit?

No. You can register and deposit without full verification, but we screen your age and basic identity at sign-up. Full KYC, including documents, is required before your first withdrawal.

How long does verification take at Riviera Casino?

Most checks complete within 24 to 48 hours. Straightforward cases with clear documents often clear the same day.

Why do I have to withdraw to the same method I deposited with?

Our licence requires a same-method rule where the method supports withdrawals. It prevents money moving through your account in ways that bypass our monitoring.

What happens if my documents are rejected?

We contact you by email first and tell you exactly what was wrong. Withdrawals stay paused until you supply acceptable documents; your account stays open in the meantime.

Is Bitcoin verification different?

Yes, slightly. Instead of a card photo you provide a screenshot of your crypto wallet showing your name or wallet address, so we can match it to your deposit.
